Bangkok, Thailand – Dr. Mark Anthony Familaran, Principal II of Pasay City National Science High School, received the First Place Award of the school during the prestigious 47th SEAMEO High Officials Meeting held at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Bangkok, Thailand, on November 27, 2024.

The award was presented during the Southeast Asian Educational Innovation Awards segment, which showcased groundbreaking initiatives from institutions across the region.

Science secured the top spot with Project Vinculum, an innovative program designed to promote sustainable development through its five key components: Buklod, Abante, Sibol, Binhi, and Likha.

The award-winning video entry was conceptualized and crafted by an exceptional team of students: Elyzza Marie Esteban, Neil Josh Icaro, Zyriel Josh Coronel, and Xyrel James Canonoy, under the expert guidance of Senior High School teachers Rexielle Joy Villareal and Maria Theresa Estilong and School Principal Dr. Mark Anthony Familaran.

The SEAMEO High Officials Meeting, an annual gathering of Southeast Asian education leaders and stakeholders, fosters collaboration and innovation within the region’s education systems. This year’s event focused on inclusivity and addressing the challenges of modern education.

Attended by key policymakers and education professionals, the event featured inspiring keynote speeches, plenary sessions, and presentations from SEAMEO member countries and partners.

This monumental success was made possible through the unwavering support of Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, and Konsehal Joey Calixto Isidro, who serves as the Education Committee Chair of the Pasay City Local Government Unit. Their commitment to advancing education in Pasay City continues to inspire and empower the school’s achievements.

Additionally, the school extends its gratitude to DepEd Tayo – Division of Pasay City, headed by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Joel Torrecampo, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Quinn Norman Arreza, Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. Renato Mesada, and DepEd Philippines Secretary Former Senator Sonny Angara. Their guidance and dedication to educational excellence have been instrumental in achieving this milestone.
