PCNSciHS Holds 11th Moving-Up Ceremony, Honors Junior High Completers

Written By: Emmanuel Salazar Pasay City National Science High School (PCNSciHS) held its 11th Moving-Up Ceremony for Junior High School completers on the morning of March 26, recognizing students who successfully fulfilled their academic requirements and are set to transition to senior high school. School Principal II Dr. Mark Anthony Familaran, together with Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) Dr. Renato Mesada, formally certified the completers. Distinguished students were also recognized for their academic excellence and active involvement in school activities. Pasay City Mayor Hon. Imelda “Emi” Calixto-Rubiano delivered an inspiring message, encouraging students to uphold integrity, discipline, and commitment as they advance to the next level of their education. The ceremony also featured messages of welcome, gratitude, and inspiration, expressing appreciation to teachers, parents, and school officials who supported the learners throughout their junior high school journey. The event highlighted the importance of perseverance and dedication, marking a significant milestone for the completers as they prepare for the challenges and opportunities of senior high school.

PCNSciHS Celebrates 9th Commencement Exercises for Class of 2026

Written By: Alaiza Eunice Cruz & Emmanuel Salazar Under the theme “Filipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character,” Pasay City National Science High School (PCNSciHS) successfully conducted its 9th Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2026 on March 26 at the school gymnasium. School Principal II Dr. Mark Anthony Familaran presented and confirmed the candidates for graduation, while the certification and conferment of diplomas were carried out through Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo, CESO VI, represented by Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. Renato B. Mesada. Outstanding graduates were recognized for their academic excellence and leadership. Selected honor students delivered meaningful messages during the ceremony. Sofia Michiko L. Yamamoto (With High Honors) encouraged her fellow graduates to carry the values of determination, integrity, and dignity wherever their paths may lead. Julie Mael M. Dimla (With High Honors) emphasized that graduation is not the end but the beginning of continuous learning. Filha Ray Penelope J. Bautista (With High Honors) expressed gratitude to the school, teachers, and families for their unwavering support. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Pasay City Mayor Hon. Imelda “Emi” Calixto-Rubiano and Councilor Luigi Calixto-Rubiano. Messages were also delivered through video by Lone Representative Hon. Antonino G. Calixto and Department of Education Secretary Hon. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, highlighting the importance of integrity, competence, and service. A regional message from DepEd NCR Regional Director Dr. Jocelyn DR Andaya was shared by Dr. Maripaz T. Mendoza, Chief Education Supervisor-SGOD. The program began at 4:00 PM with the traditional entrance of colors and concluded at 7:00 PM. As a symbol of their shared journey, the graduates sang “Minsan” by the Eraserheads as their graduation song. The ceremony marked the successful completion of senior high school for the Class of 2026, signifying their readiness to pursue higher education and contribute meaningfully to society.

PCNSciHS named Eco-Champions, YES-O thanks Pascians

Written By: Nikita Pariña In partnership with Accenture Philippines, Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) honored students through the Pascian Patrol: Operation XTRASH Awarding Program recognizing their environmental advocacy and contribution throughout the academic year at the school gymnasium, this March 23.   Students shared their experiences as Operation X-TRASH tested their capability to cooperate whilst nourishing ecological awareness and action during the X-TRASH event. In particular, Pascians demonstrated their dedication to a better world through their participation in the pursuit of the campus.   Accenture articulated its gratitude after earning 76,880.15 environmental points from recycled plastic, paper, and metals collected by the Pascians, now recognized as the Top 1 Environmental Champion through the X-TRASH Challenge Year 5.   “Hopefully, this XTRASH will continue in the next years. All the youth here are the true hope of the nation. We’re looking forward to all of us retaining everything we have learned and being our inspiration to remain Eco-Champions,” Julie Alvarez, PH Workplace Service Delivery Senior Manager, Pioneer of ACN PH Eco Champions expressed.   The following sections that had the most points were awarded namely: First Place: 9 – Mendeleev Second Place: 10 – Einstein Third Place: 7 – Galileo The program concluded with a closing remark from Mr. Prince Luck Balantac, Accenture’s Market Unit Environment Lead, which encouraged the students to continue their legacy of being the Eco-Champion, having a meaningful contribution to sustainability, youth engagement, and environmental stewardship.   Students then lined up for food provided by the organization as a gesture of thanks to Pascians, with Mc Rhae’s Food Court serving at the gymside.

PCNSciHS, pasok sa Top 15 finalists ng 4th Husay ng Soksay

Written By: Zacharie Macalalad Napabilang sa Top 15 finalists ang Pasay City National Science High School (PCNSciHS) sa dalawang kategorya ng 4th Husay ng Soksay, isang National Inter-High School Social Science Competition na pinangunahan ng University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Sociology Society.   Kasama sa labinsiyam na kalahok ang PCNSciHS na tabla para sa top 15 ng Alingawngaw ng Soksay: Speech Competition at Salaysay, Soksay: Kwento ng Lipunan; Short Film Contest.   Kinatawan ni Martha Ysabelle Clave ang speech competition kung saan ipinahayag niya kung paano nagkakapareho ang kwento ng kanyang ina at sa madaming Pilipino ukol sa kalidad ng serbisyong pang-ospital ng Pilipinas.   “It’s about how yung kwento ng mother ko po and [ng] madaming Pilipino ay iisa kasi sobrang hirap po makamit ang magandang kalidad na serbisyo sa mga ospital lalo na po kung overwork at underpaid ang mga nagtatrabaho,” ani Clave.   Dagdag pa niya, “nabibigyan ko ng light ang isang kama na naglalaman ng libo- libong istorya ng bawat Pilipinong nagsa- suffer sa ospital.”   Samantala, kinatawan naman nina Rolando Teves, Freya Tugade, Graciela Balucan, Johnella Garcia, Lyla Antonio, Roneza Bernasor, at ni Clave ang short film competition.   Isa rin ang kanilang short film na pinamagatang “Panasibo” sa labinsiyam na mga kalahok na nagtabla para sa Top 15 ng kategoryang ito.   “Pinamagatan po namin ang aming film na ‘Panasibo’ bilang pinaikling bersyon ng ‘Pagod na si Bobbie,’ na sumasalamin sa matinding pagod na nararanasan ng aming pangunahing tauhan.  Kaugnay din po ito ng salitang ‘pasibo,’ na nangangahulugang pananahimik o hindi na paglaban,” ani Antonio, direktor ng pelikula.   Ayon pa sa kanya, “ang mensahe po na nais naming iparating ay ipakita na ang kabataan ay hindi mahina, kundi tahimik lamang na lumalaban sa mga pagsubok na kanilang kinakaharap. Madalas silang napagkakamalang reklamador o kulang sa tiyaga, ngunit ang totoo, ginagawa nila ang lahat ng makakaya nila kahit hindi ito napapansin.”   Matagumpay na napabilang ang mga mag-aaral sa gabay ni G. Emerson Constantino, Master Teacher II, Araling Panlipunan Department.

The Final Chapter: Pasci stages Graduation Ball for Batch 2026

Written By: Elyzza Esteban Pasay City National Science High School held its Graduation Ball for Batch 2026 at the school gymnasium on March 19, marking a milestone event for the graduating class.   With the theme “Nexus Ball: Where Academic Achievement Meets Personal Growth,” the event gathered students for an evening of formal activities commemorating the completion of their high school education.   The program formally opened with preliminaries, including an audio-visual presentation and remarks from Dr. Mark Anthony F. Familaran, who cited the efforts of the Local Government Unit which made the event possible.   Mrs. Jackyline T. Lagaña delivered an inspirational message, urging graduates to uphold the values they developed during their academic years.   Afterwards, Mr. Luigi Calixto, City Councilor and one of the event’s main proponents, delivered an inspirational message, emphasizing that the celebration was organized for the students, to honor their achievements, and give them a memorable experience as they step in into the next chapter.   The program featured performances from Grade 12 students, beginning with an opening number by the male students, followed by a song performance by Ms. Elyzza Esteban.   A cotillion performed by selected Grade 12 students highlighted the program, incorporating a nostalgic theme that referenced the year 2020.   Pasay City Mayor Imelda “Emi” Calixto Rubiano also attended the event and congratulated the graduates, describing the occasion as a recognition of their hard work and sacrifices.   Mr. Leon Corwin Manlangit of 12-Del Mundo and Ms. Cheska Niña Fernandez of 12-Quisumbing were named Mr. and Ms. Congeniality, respectively. Meanwhile, Mr. Gabriel Ernie Samulde of 12-Zara and Ms. Zoe Brianna David of 12-Quisumbing were recognized as the stars of the night.   The Graduation Ball served as both a celebration and a closing event for Batch 2026 as they prepare to transition to higher education.

Outstanding students recognized at Fire Prevention Month Closing

Written By: Jessie Potente Outstanding students were recognized during the closing program of Fire Prevention Month 2026, with the theme “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa,” held at the school canteen.   The event featured various activities that highlighted the students’ knowledge, creativity, and commitment to fire safety awareness.   The following are the winners:   Poster Making Contest Ayesha Kate Caday – 1st Place Isabel L. Flores – 2nd Place Christine Ysabelle Cruz – 3rd Place Quiz Bee Eisen Weins Vicente – 1st Place Anzhela SJ. Violago – 2nd Place Juan Ian Antonio Cabingue – 3rd Place Selected students who represented the school in the BFP 7th Fire Square Competition were also acknowledged during the program.   During his inspirational message, Principal Mr. Mark Anthony Familaran emphasized that the lessons from Fire Prevention Month should not end with the event but be applied in real-life situations when needed.   The program concluded with the closing remarks of Alex Noelle Cabasan, BERT President, who expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the Fire Prevention Month celebration.

Grade 10, 12 Pascians Attend Recollection and Baccalaureate Mass

Fr. Edgardo C. Coroza, Parish Priest of San Roque Parish.   A recollection was performed before the mass to reflect, and enable personal growth for the students.   The event highlighted the determination and hard work of the graduating and moving-up students.

PaSci honors National Women’s Month with culminating program

Written By: Emmanuel Salazar In celebration of National Women’s Month, Pasay City National Science High School held the culminating activity under the theme “Pagsibol ng Lila: Women’s Month Velebration” at the school gymnasium on March 18, 2026.   The program formally opened with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines leading the Entrance of Colors, followed by preliminary activities that set the tone for the celebration. #LeadLikeHer runway show was conducted where students confidently showcased their interpretations of influential female leaders and empowering ideals.   Principal II Dr. Mark Anthony Familaran delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the importance of equality, saying, “Regardless of gender, we should all be equal here. Everyone must be given the opportunity to showcase their talents.”   Following an intermission number and an interview segment, the JUANAKnows Best Quiz Bee was conducted, where participants demonstrated their knowledge and awareness of women’s issues, leadership, and empowerment.   Galaw Siyensa, together with Orange Alcaraz and Haylee Mangundayao, led the second intermission number. This was followed by the awarding of winners from the various competitions held throughout the month of March.   Yelena Fabricante, Prisma President, led the pledge, which was followed by the closing remarks of Ms. Joanna Luciano, Prisma Adviser. The event formally concluded with the Exit of Colors and a photo opportunity.

PaSci records 3:16 evacuation time in NSED

Written By: Emmanuel Salazar Pasay City National Science High School recorded a 3-minute and 16-second evacuation time during the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 12, showcasing an organized and timely response.   The drill was led by the Batang Empowered Resilience Team (BERT) in partnership with the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, facilitating the evacuation of students, teachers, and staff to designated safe zones.   The activity also served as an assessment of evacuation routes and response coordination, with school officials observing movement flow and identifying areas for improvement to further strengthen on-campus emergency systems.

Ito ay nasusukat sa kakayahang ipaglaban ang katotohanan at panatilihin ang integridad sa bawat salitang isinusulat,” aniya bilang paghihikayat sa mga kabataang mangarap nang mataas at panindigan ang katotohanan.
