Pasci screens incoming Grade 11 applicants through Admission Test

Written By: Emmanuel Salazar Student applicants from various schools took the Grade 11 Admission Test of Pasay City National Science High School for the incoming school year 2026 to 2027 on March 14 as part of the school’s screening process for aspiring senior high school students.   Applicants completed the examination, which assessed their readiness for the academic demands of the institution’s SHS program.   “I was looking for a change and I was looking for a challenge like Pasay Science. I could say that considering the standards, it’s a little bit intimidating and exciting. Aside from that, I found the students very inviting and friendly,” Elise Agdeppa, a student from Pasay City South High School stated.   The admission test served as part of the school’s screening process for incoming SHS students who aim to pursue their studies in a STEM-based academic environment.

Pascian Journalists Excel at RSPC 2026, Quantum Wins 8th Best Feature Section

Pascian scribes arrived at the University of Perpetual Help–Dalta on March 10 to participate in the Regional Schools Press Conference and Contests (RSPC) 2026. The event featured various individual competitions, along with the awarding of the Best School Papers, Most Outstanding School Paper Advisers, and Most Outstanding Campus Journalists in the National Capital Region. Highlighting the school’s accomplishments, The Quantum earned 8th place for Best Feature Page in the School Paper Contest, showcasing the talent, passion, and dedication of Pascian journalists. This recognition reflects the collective effort behind every story, every idea, and every word written, as participants proudly represented the school on the regional stage and demonstrated their commitment to excellence in campus journalism.  

GSP encampment fosters teamwork, enhances life skills

Written By: Emmanuel Salazar Members of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) from Pasay City National Science High School participated in a two-day camping activity from February 27 to 28, 2026 aimed at developing teamwork, cooperation, and practical life skills through outdoor learning.   Participants shared that the camping experience helped them gain a clearer understanding of teamwork, responsibility, and practical skills that they can apply in everyday life.   “The encampment helped me work closely with other scouts, share responsibilities, and support each other to complete tasks successfully,” Danelle Bueno, GSP Grade 8 Chairperson shared.   The program gathered scouts in a shared camping environment where they joined activities designed to strengthen communication, responsibility, and confidence while working with fellow participants.   Key activities included a potluck meal, group presentations, campfire gathering, and radio broadcasting exercise that allowed scouts to practice teamwork and clear communication.   Safety and preparedness were also emphasized through sessions on self-defense and basic bandaging, introducing participants to simple personal protection and first-aid practices.   Creative and physical activities such as poster making and Zumba complemented the program before the camp concluded with an overnight stay that encouraged independence, cooperation, and shared responsibility among the scouts.

PaScians, nagpamalas ng husay sa statistical challenge

Written By: Jane Ashley Tuazon Nagpakitang-gilas ang mga mag-aaral ng ika-12 baitang ng Pasay City National Science High School sa Statistical Challenge na ginanap sa University of the Philippines Diliman (UP) College of Statistics nitong ika-28 ng Pebrero.   Nasungkit ng mga PaScian na sina Filha Ray Penelope J. Bautista, Julie Mael M. Dimla, at Neil Josh D. Icaro ang ika-siyam na puwesto sa indibidwal na kategorya, na nagpapakita ng kanilang husay sa paglutas ng mga problemang may kaugnayan sa estadistika at pag-aanalisa ng datos.   “Review and study what is on the coverage of the quiz bee.. hindi lang namin na-anticipate yung level of difficulty.. pang college level,” ani Gng. Aborde-Villanueva, sa paghahanda sa naturang kompetisyon.   Lumahok sa nasabing kompetisyon ang iba’t ibang paaralan upang subukin ang kanilang kaalaman at kasanayan sa larangan ng estadistika at pagsusuri ng datos.   Pinangunahan ng University of the Philippines ang kompetisyon na may layuning mapalawak ang kaalaman ng mga mag-aaral sa estadistika at mahikayat silang gamitin ang datos sa masusing pagsusuri at paggawa ng makabuluhang konklusyon.   Nakamit ng mga mag-aaral ang tagumpay na ito sa tulong at gabay ni Gng. Abegail C. Aborde-Villanueva, guro sa Statistics at kanilang tagapagsanay.

Pasci opens for USHAT 2026

Written By: Danella De Vera Pasay City National Science High School welcomes 262 Grade 6 students for the Unified Science High School Admission Test (USHAT) 2026, today March 7, 2026.   The test is conducted in two batches, from 8:00 AM – 12:00 NN and 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Examinees utilize a digital tablet to access the testing portal.   The examination is also taken in 17 other science high school in NCR, in accordance with the DepEd NCR Regional Memorandum No. 158, s. 2026.  

Career Orientation prepares Grade 10, 12 students for career paths

Written By: Emmanuel Salazar To prepare graduating and incoming senior high school students, the Career Guidance Orientation program with the theme, “Navigating Futures, Engineering Success” was held at the Pasay City National Science High School gymnasium on March 5 and was attended by Grade 10 and 12 students.   The orientation highlighted how to choose careers that match students’ interests and academic strands and provided information on the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), which allows students to gain work experience while continuing their education.   Students received guidance on key steps in college preparation, including selecting institutions, understanding admission requirements, and planning academic pathways that will support their long-term educational and career goals.   “The program helped me understand the courses I might choose and the kind of work I could do in the future. My new knowledge also made me more confident about my academic and career decisions,” said Jean Ylagan, Grade 10 student.   The orientation provided students with structured information, opportunities, and planning tools that will guide them in navigating education and career choices, completing requirements for graduation or senior high, and preparing for future academic and work commitments.

PaSci enters first Junior Fire Olympics

Written By: Stephen Gabor Grade 11 students from Pasay City National Science High School joined the 7th Fire Square Competition’s first Junior Fire Olympics today at SM Mall of Asia.   PaSci clinched awards in the Junior Fire Olympics’ featured contests, securing second runner-up in the bucket relay and collapsed structure event, trained by Mr. Randie Pimentel and Mrs. Rosalida Sinsuan.   The said competition also featured emergency response categories, which include a rescue and transfer relay and fire extinguishing course.   Selected students from the school’s Batang Empowered Resilient Team (BERT) also earned second runner-up in the Video Reels Contest which featured a 1-minute campaign for fire safety and prevention.   Apart from the said activities, the 7th Fire Square Competition also highlighted student knowledge and creativity through conducting Quiz Bowl and Poster Making contests.   With the theme, “Hangad Nating Lahat, Pamayanang Handa, Aktibo, at Masagana,” the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) marks the event as an advocacy to strengthening effective response and preparedness in fire-related emergencies.

PaSci stages RFOT STEMazing 2026

Written By: Elyzza Esteban Another milestone has been achieved as Pasay City National Science High School hosts the Regional Festival of Talents 2026 STEMazing Competition today, February 25, under the theme, “Embracing Change, Redefining Excellence.”   The competition gathers regional qualifiers from different cities across the National Capital Region for both elementary and secondary levels.   From last year’s on-the-spot research making contest, this year’s STEMazing Competition features a series of STEM-focused tasks designed to challenge participants’ skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.   The event opened with a program led by Mrs. Ann Decena-Quezon and Mr. Bryan Pacris.   Dr. Mark Anthony Familaran, School Principal of Pasay City National Science High School, then delivered the opening remarks and welcomed the delegates from across the region. In his message, Dr. Familaran expressed the school’s honor and pride in hosting the event and highlighted the importance of innovation and excellence in STEM education.   Mr. Lambert Quesada, Officer in Charge and Education Program Supervisor for Mathematics of Department of Education National Capital Region (DepEd NCR) introduced the board of judges. This was followed by a briefing on the competition mechanics by Mr. Don King Evangelista, Officer in Charge and Education Program Supervisor for Science of DepEd NCR.   The opening program concluded with a photo opportunity before the official start of the competition.   #TQ2526 #RFOT2026

PaScians, tagumpay sa 2nd National Scientific Challenge 2025-2026

Written By: Juan Cabingue Nagwagi ang mga mag-aaral sa ika-9 na baitang ng Pasay City National Science High School (PCNSciHS) sa 2nd National Scientific Challenge (NSC) na isinagawa gamit ang online na plataporma nitong ika-15 ng Pebrero 2026.   Natamo nina Alzen Loyd B. Cruz at Bryan Trevor C. Narciso ang gintong medalya.   Habang nasungkit nina Orange Zyrille G. Alcaraz, Juan Ian Antonio D. Cabingue, Akishamay P. David, Bryant Harvie C. Olivete, Jeryl V. Padilla, John Carlo S. Pepito, at Eisen Weins M. Vicente ang medalyang pilak.   Nakamit naman ni Jairus Asher G. Deslate ang medalyang tanso.   Umikot ang paligsahan sa larangan ng agham tulad ng Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, at Astronomy.   Ang 2nd National Scientific Challenge ay isang pambansang online na paligsahan na bukas sa mga estudyanteng Pilipino mula Grade 3 hanggang Grade 12 sa taong panuruan 2025-2026 na naglalayong paunlarin ang kasanayan sa agham, kritikal na pag-iisip, at paglutas ng suliranin.   Nagtagumpay ang mga mag-aaral ng PCNSciHS sa kompetisyong ito sa gabay at tulong ng tagapagsanay na si Gng. Demetria M. Lappay.   Inilabas ang opisyal na resulta nitong Pebrero 19 sa pamamagitan ng Google Drive link sa Facebook post ng Philippine Education Nexus-PEN Inc., nag-organisa ng patimpalak.
