In partnership with Accenture Philippines, Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) honored students through the Pascian Patrol: Operation XTRASH Awarding Program recognizing their environmental advocacy and contribution throughout the academic year at the school gymnasium, this March 23.
Students shared their experiences as Operation X-TRASH tested their capability to cooperate whilst nourishing ecological awareness and action during the X-TRASH event. In particular, Pascians demonstrated their dedication to a better world through their participation in the pursuit of the campus.
Accenture articulated its gratitude after earning 76,880.15 environmental points from recycled plastic, paper, and metals collected by the Pascians, now recognized as the Top 1 Environmental Champion through the X-TRASH Challenge Year 5.
“Hopefully, this XTRASH will continue in the next years. All the youth here are the true hope of the nation. We’re looking forward to all of us retaining everything we have learned and being our inspiration to remain Eco-Champions,” Julie Alvarez, PH Workplace Service Delivery Senior Manager, Pioneer of ACN PH Eco Champions expressed.
The following sections that had the most points were awarded namely:
- First Place: 9 – Mendeleev
- Second Place: 10 – Einstein
- Third Place: 7 – Galileo
The program concluded with a closing remark from Mr. Prince Luck Balantac, Accenture’s Market Unit Environment Lead, which encouraged the students to continue their legacy of being the Eco-Champion, having a meaningful contribution to sustainability, youth engagement, and environmental stewardship.
Students then lined up for food provided by the organization as a gesture of thanks to Pascians, with Mc Rhae’s Food Court serving at the gymside.
