Pasay City marked National Children’s Month with the conduct of the annual Children’s Congress, gathering youth leaders from various school-based organizations to promote and strengthen children’s rights advocacy, November 14, 2025.

Pascian representatives Neil Josh Icaro (Vice President, Supreme Secondary Learners’ Government), Marian Tamayo (President, Barkada Kontra Droga), Ron David Santiago (President, Youth for Environment and Schools’ Organization), and Michiko Sofia Yamamoto (President, Campus Integrity Crusaders) joined the event on behalf of Pasay City National Science High School.

Congressman Antonino “Tony” Calixto opened the program with a message underscoring the vital role of youth engagement in advancing child protection initiatives.

To deepen participants’ awareness, a session on Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Material (CSAEM) was conducted, offering an in-depth overview of child abuse cases and the legal mechanisms designed to safeguard minors.

Following this, Mayor Imelda “Emi” Calixto-Rubiano addressed the delegates, encouraging them to remain committed to advocating for children’s rights and extending early congratulations to the incoming Children’s Congress officers.

Afterwards, the election of officers took place, during which Marian Tamayo was chosen as this year’s Secretary of the Children’s Congress.

The program concluded with the announcement of the top three winners of the Children’s Rights Advocacy competition, where Pasay City National Science High School was recognized as one of the finalists.

As part of the continuing Children’s Month celebration, the State of the Children’s Address is scheduled to be held on November 17 at the Cuneta Astrodome.
