The Learner Government Commission on Elections and Appointments (LG COMEA) conducted the Miting de Avance on February 6 to formally present the candidates vying for seats in the Supreme Secondary Learners’ Government (SSLG) of Pasay City National Science High School.
The day opened with the commemoration of the Memorial of Saint Paul Miki and Companions during the First Friday Mass of February, celebrated by Pascians and San Roque Parish Church.
Led by the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Philippines of the school, the entrance of colors was carried out, followed by the preliminary activities headed by the PCNSciHS Chorale.
Formally commencing the event, Assistant Principal II Mrs. Sara Jane Delos Santos delivered her opening remarks, followed by an inspirational message from School Principal I Dr. Mark Anthony Familaran, who urged student voters to cast informed and responsible votes grounded in leadership, integrity, and service rather than popularity.
LG COMEA commissioners and officers, along with candidates from the Tanglaw and Salinlahi partylists, were introduced, drawing cheers and applause from the crowd.
The Quantum facilitated the Question-and-Answer and Electoral Debate segment, where both partylists articulated their views and presented platforms addressing student concerns.
The event concluded with the closing remarks of LG COMEA Vice-Chairperson Rianne Dane Lopez, who expressed gratitude and optimism for the upcoming elections, followed by the exit of colors, formally closing the program.
