A Success: PaSci celebrates Teachers’ Day Celebration 2021

FRIDAY, October 8 – PaSci, in special collaboration with the Supreme Student Government (SSG) shows love and appreciation to all teachers by hosting Teachers’ Day Celebration 2021, with a theme of “Gurong Filipino: Katuwang sa Hamon, Kasama sa Pagbangon.”
 
To give way to the program, normal online classes have been canceled, as the teachers and professors are the main participants.
 
The meeting began as early as 7:45 am to accommodate for everyone to join before the start of the event. It was attended by SSG officers, faculty teachers, faculty personnel, students from all grade levels, along with the school principal and assistant school principal.
 
The event was hosted by members of the SSG, specifically Ms. Katrina T. Bocabel, Interim President; Ms. Irene S. Delos Nieves, Interim Vice President-Internal; Ms. Maria Jocel Lavilla, Interim Vice President-External; and Ms. Elyzza Marie Esteban, the Interim Secretary.
At about 8:00 am, preliminaries started with morning greetings, reminders for the name format, to turn off the camera and microphone, and the attendance of teachers was also introduced via roll call.
 
The flag ceremony started at around 8:22 am, heralding the official start of the actual program. Assistant Principal Mr. Rouell A. Santero gave the ceremonial opening remarks. He gave special thanks to the teachers for taking care of the students and to the SSG for organizing the event.
 
By 8:36 am, teachers opened their cameras to show their costumes with the theme of “Travel Philippines” where students were given forms to vote on who they think had the best attire. In addition, students and teachers also shared their fondest memories in school in the chatbox.
 
Moving on, the Gurolympics, contests between the different subject departments of the school, began around 8:47 am. Intense matches between departments were played with the first two games, Bring Me and Guess the Song.
 
Moreover, winners of the teacher-only raffle were declared along with their respective prizes.
 
After the first two games, an intermission was held. A message to the teachers in the form of a video presentation was shown, and after that, the games resumed.
 
The third and next game was 4 Pics 1 Movie about old Filipino films. After this, another raffle was held, with the prizes being 4 headsets, 9 winners of 500PHP in Gcash, and a grand winner of 2000PHP in Gcash.
 
Subsequently, the event finally went on to its last game of the day: the Whisper Challenge, wherein one member from each department was muted and was given a word, and they had to convey the word to the other members, who had to guess.
 
Then, at around 10:49 am, a song and lyric video for teachers composed and made by Ms. Jocel Lavilla and other Grade 11 students was shown and presented in the meeting; the teachers expressed their appreciation and reactions after.
 
Afterwards, the Awarding Ceremony was held. The Filipino department won the first game, Bring Me; the AP & ESP Department won both the second and the third game, Guess the Song and the Singer, and 4 Pics 1 Movie, respectively, and finally; the Science Department won the fourth and final game, the Whisper Challenge. Additionally, certificates of recognition were given to teachers who contributed as a writer for the DepEd modules.
 
Thereafter, a tribute video was shown of students, alumni, co-workers, and the first-ever principal of the school, Ma’am Irene S. Tonel, paying tribute and expressing their deepest gratitude and appreciation for the teachers. Moreover, the retirement of Mrs. Cena, Mrs. Calandria, and Mrs. Junio was officially announced.
 
Later, the polls and forms were finally tallied and the Best in Costume award was given to Ma’am Villareal, Ma’am Baya, and Sir Balolo, each of them winning 300PHP in Gcash. ever principal. Then, a spoken word poetry by Ms. Katrina T. Bocabel was presented to the teachers.
 
Finally, by 11:46 am, the final goodbyes took place. The school principal, Mr. Sonny J. Adriano presented the closing remarks, thanking the teachers; declaring
that while each teacher is different, they all have the same goal of helping students reach their goals and dreams in life.
 
Ultimately, Teachers’ Day Celebration 2021 came to a successful end at around noon, after the final picture taking, and everyone has said their final thanks.
